The Birthday Boy

Wow. My bubba is five - I can't believe it! I am so lucky to have such an entertaining kid - great for blogging about!

So to re-cap a long and wonderful day in Frankie's words: "I woke up and there was a Star Wars toy on my bed. Then Donnie made me breakfast pizza. Then I got to bring Scooby cupcakes with Scooby rings in them to school and wear a crown! Mrs. Ellis (librarian) gave me a cool eraser for my birthday and I got a sticker for good behavior. Then I didn't have to go to Step-by-Step because mommy picked me up after Young 5's and we went to China Buffet for lunch. Donnie went too, but then he went back to work, so me and mommy went to Toys-R-Us and I got turtles and they gave me another crown and a balloon! When we came home I opened some packages and birthday cards. I got to buy another toy from Target with my birthday money. We had noodles for dinner and then we went to my school for a Halloween walk through and I did trick-or-treating. Mom didn't make me do any schoolwork tonight because it was too late and I got to watch a new Avatar. My party is in 3 days!"
Hope you like his costume... can you believe they make things this creepy in small sizes?! Oh well, it was the only werewolf we could find and I suppose they're not known for being cute!
Here are Chase and Brooklyn (two of Frankie's best buds) looking sweet and innocent in their costumes and apparently oblivious to the sinister werewolf standing beside them.

Better late than never...?

Well, I'm almost 27 weeks along in pregnancy, so I thought that it was about time to start a pregnancy blog :) That's me - always right on top of things! Hopefully this will give all you family and friends who live so far away a peek into how things are going - in case you were curious. Plus, I can't even re-call how many times mom has told me that I should be writing down the hysterical things that come out of Frankie's mouth on a daily basis!

So - here goes! Bailey Irene Konuszewski is expected to arrive somewhere around January 25th. She has been very active and I often think I'm holding an aerobics class inside of me! The doctor is pleased with her growth - she is measuring right where she should be and her heart rate has been perfect! Our next appointment is on November 3 and after that we will be visiting Dr. Orvitz every 2 weeks. As soon as I figure out this blogging stuff, I'll post her most recent pictures!

FZ is doing great in Young 5's - he seems to have adjusted very well and made some new friends. He has a bunch of sight words that he's learning (so far: I, my, am, me, a, can, cat) and his name writing has vastly improved. He'll be VERY prepared for Kindergarten next year - if he can only remember that he's not the teacher! He's looking forward to his birthday party on November 1st. We'll be holding it at a local gym and it will include a mammoth inflatable whale "thing" that sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to host a bunch of kids come down off of the sugar rush from trick or treating the night before ;) BTW - Frankie chose to be a werewolf this year because, he reasoned, "I have a really awesome howl, Mom!"

Don and Kim are doing well too! We have a car that may be on it's last legs, but other than that - no worries. We're almost finished with the nursery and though day-to-day maintenance of the house is a challenge when we're both so busy, things are coming together! The rugby season ended (hallelujah!) so hopefully things we'll be a little less chaotic now.
